BREAKING NEWS: 53 Confirmed Dead Due To ‘Seniang’

Tropical Storm Seniang continues to bring stormy weather over the Visayas and Mindanao. As of December 31, the National Risk Reduction and Management Committee has confirmed at least 53 dead due to the storm; most of them were caused by drowning, electrocution, asphyxia due to landslide, or had their house swept away by floods. 26 were also injured and eight are still missing due to 'Seniang'.

More casualties are being reported by the LGUs to NDRRMC but the agency is still verifying. The numbers are likely to change in the next few hours.
A total of 5, 046 families were pre-emptively evacuated to 79 centers in Regions 6, 7, 10, 11, and CARAGA. A total of 117 houses were damaged by the storm. Damage to agriculture is estimated at P3.6M.


Below are the pictures sent by people from Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Capiz, Cebu, Leyte, Negros Occidental, Samar to ABS CBN News Channel of homes and roads in various provinces, which were submerged in floods. They say they have no power or water supplies.
