PBA FINALS 2015: Alaska Aces Wins Game 1 (January 7, 2015)

After being down 22 points, the Alaska Aces snatches game 1 with an 88 to 82 win over San Miguel Beermen.

The "Beast", Calvin Abueva made two free throws that sealed the overtime win and took game 1 of the best of seven series.

Catch Game 2 on 7 p.m Friday, January 9  at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

'Papal Visit' Traffic Advisory

MANILA, Philippines – The Pasay City government has released traffic advisory in preparation of the upcoming Pope Francis’ Papal Visit in the Philippines. Roxas Boulevard Southbound will be closed to vehicular traffic on the following dates:

January 15       :           4:00 PM until after the Papal Entourage Passes through                  

January 16       :           1:00 PM onwards until after the Papal Entourage Passes through

January 17       :           8:00 AM until after the Papal Entourage Passes through

January 19       :           5:00 AM until after the Papal Entourage Passes through

Motorists and Commuters are advised to refrain from bringing vehicles and/or avoid travelling along Roxas Boulevard and other adjacent roads as they may be closed when necessary.

The government has declared January 15, 16 and 19 as non-working holidays to give Roman Catholic devotees a chance to see His Holiness Pope Francis.

LTO: Time To Change Old License Plates

New license plates with multiple security features, will be available to replace old license plates beginning January 5, in line with government’s license plate standardization program.

The new motor vehicle plates will be available 45 days after registration renewal.

 “It’s time to change old license plates with new ones" Secretary of Transportation Jun Abaya said. Adding that phasing out the 9 various designs currently in use with modern, standardized, and security feature-packed license plates will also begin.

“We advise the public that their new license plates will be ordered upon renewing their motor vehicle registrations beginning this year. The new plates will be available 45 days after ordering them,” added LTO’s chief, Assistant Secretary Alfonso Tan Jr.

The new license plates for private motor vehicles sport a black-and-white design, similar to those in most countries around the world. They have tamper-resistant locks and screws which permanently attach the plates to the vehicle, preventing their removal and transfer. They also feature reflectorized sheeting to make them visible from afar and from any angle.   

“Just to remind those who have old license plates: the new plates will not change your alphanumeric combination. Your existing plate numbers will be retained. Only vehicles registered for the first-time will be issued the new 3-letter 4-number combination,” Tan said.

The entire standardization or replacement program will last until 2017. New plates will cost the same as existing plates, which is P 450.00 for 4-wheeled motor vehicles. Once replaced, the old license plates will no longer be valid for any purpose, but may be kept by their owners.

I got intrigued because I noticed some foreigners buying loads of it. A tub lasted me over a month with twice a day usage. The packaging details were in korean so I had to check it online after I bought it.

Based on my experience, it did work wonders on my skin! It tightened my pores, smoothened my skin, made my face look whiter and glowing, and it dried up my zits faster. Its On!!! Mayweather - Pacquiao... Negotiations

At least they're negotiating, again.

“We’re still in negotiations with Floyd’s group through Top Rank. I spoke to Manny this morning. I gave Manny what is perceived to be a counter offer from the Mayweather people,” said Michael Koncz, Manny Pacquiao’s adviser.

“We discussed it and now I’ve given instruction to Bob to counter their offer. We’ve been going back and forth. Bob has been negotiating with the powers that be on Floyd’s side for the past couple of weeks. There’s been offers and counter offers, and a couple of days ago Bob called me and gave me allegedly where Floyd’s side is, and I discussed that with Manny two hours ago.”

Boxing fans hope that Mayweather's offer are counterable, realistic the least.

 “Now I’ve given Bob our response to that. I’m never overly optimistic until the contract is signed, but the good thing is that we’re still going back and forth,” Koncz ended.

It has been going back and forth for years now! Well, there's no harm in hoping right? Fingers crossed.

LRT-MRT Fare To Be Implemented on January 4, 2015

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has set the date for implementing the P 11.00 (base fare) + P 1.00 (per kilometer) formula for fares at the Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 (LRT-1 and LRT-2) and the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3).

“It’s a tough decision, but it had to be made. It’s been several years since an increase was proposed. We delayed its implementation one last time until after the Christmas season. While 2015 will see increased fares, it will also see marked improvements in our LRT and MRT services,” said Secretary of Transportation Jun Abaya.

The increase, which will take effect on January 4, 2015.
